Music App Concept

I chose to be the lead designer for a ‘music app’ for a simple reason - because I am a music enthusiast. My goal is to design the artist page for a music app for Android using material design guidelines.

• Easy and Simple: Knowing about the artist you love in an effortless smooth way

• Started with quick brainstorming of the features needed on the artist page.

• Sketched ideas and thoughts on paper keeping the features and their order in mind.

• Inspiration: Browsed through other music apps like Spotify.

Design decisions

Challenges in design

• Google Play: It was difficult to find the apt spot for positioning buy on google play button. I think it was challenging because it was third most important feature, therefore it’s visibility was important. This will always appear with share and favorite when user scrolls down the page.

• Social Activity: It was challenging to come up with the idea of redirecting user to Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat instead of showing text feeds within the app.
